Inside the LÙCHEN atelier, the process begins with a constantly evolving archive of recycled materials. Remnants from past collections sit alongside deadstock textiles and renewable resources gathered over time. Each fragment carries its own origin story. Once assembled into larger surfaces, these pieces form what the designers describe as a “time-net”—a layered record of the past embedded within the garment itself.
The collection plays with the tension between the simulated and the real. While artificial feather textures are constructed through reclaimed materials, real feathers occasionally appear as well. The collection incorporates elements such as 100 percent recycled acrylic, eggshells and mussel shells sourced from landfill waste, and small objects that feel slightly displaced by time—like glass marbles. These materials appear as subtle structural accents or textured surfaces, testing how far unconventional elements can be pushed while maintaining the precision expected of couture.
Formally, the garments are shaped through an ongoing negotiation with gravity. Rigid, sculptural volumes suspend the body in moments of stillness, while fluid drapery releases that tension into movement.
