Bosideng Makes Its Paris Fashion Week Debut With “The Bloom”

For its 50th anniversary, Bosideng premiered “The Bloom” in Paris, bringing Chinese heritage, Art Deco influences, and innovative downwear to the runway.

Bosideng celebrated its 50th anniversary in Paris with “The Bloom,” marking the brand’s first appearance on the official Paris Fashion Week calendar. Staged at the historic Hôtel Pozzo di Borgo, the former Paris residence of Karl Lagerfeld, the show brought together Bosideng’s focus on downwear with a more fashion-driven approach to winter dressing.

Designed by Creative Director Pietro Ferragina, the collection looks to both East and West, mixing the geometric lines of Art Deco with elements of Chinese dress and craftsmanship. The construction of the Haipai qipao, a Shanghai-style fitted dress with a Mandarin collar, appears throughout the collection, while Song brocade and silk from Suzhou add texture and a sense of heritage. Feathers, quilted surfaces, and sculptural volumes further push the traditional down jacket into new territory.

The show was divided into four lines—Extreme Cold, Outdoor, Business, and Puff—each approaching winter dressing from a different angle while maintaining the same design language. Extreme Cold pairs the protection of polar-grade down with eveningwear-inspired silhouettes, layering down, tulle, and satin into oversized yet carefully shaped looks.

Outdoor takes inspiration from natural landscapes and Art Deco geometry, combining mountaineering technology with softer, more fluid silhouettes influenced by the qipao. Technical fabrics are mixed with Song brocade and silk, while functional details like side slits and overlapping panels are reworked for everyday wear.

Business takes a more tailored approach, keeping the volume of down controlled through clean, architectural cuts. Tailoring, lace, and delicate finishing bring a softer edge to pieces designed for the office, commute, and more formal settings.

Then there’s Puff, Bosideng’s signature line, which focuses on the natural lightness and volume of down. The collection’s rounded O-shaped silhouettes are combined with 3D molding, Art Deco-inspired geometry, and a reworked qipao stand collar to create pieces that feel oversized without looking heavy.

The show closed with a series of head-to-toe pink down evening looks, bringing a softer and more unexpected finish to the collection.

The setting played an equally important role. Inside the 18th-century Hôtel Pozzo di Borgo, Bosideng transformed the historic interiors into an immersive garden inspired by “The Bloom,” set against gilded details, crystal chandeliers, and period artwork. Guests from fashion, film, and culture included Coco Rocha, Mao Xiaotong, Michelle Chen, Ouyang Didi, and Chen Tianxiang.

The anniversary celebrations continued beyond the runway with an exhibition highlighting key moments from Bosideng’s five-decade history, including collaborations with Jean Paul Gaultier, Kenzo Takada, and MSGM, along with some of the brand’s notable down jackets and more recent Puff designs.

Later that evening, Bosideng moved the celebration to the Eiffel Tower for “The Next Great Chapter,” its 50th Anniversary International Gala. Together, the runway show, exhibition, and gala marked a major moment for the Chinese outerwear brand as it enters its next chapter on the international fashion stage.

With products now sold in 72 countries and previous fashion presentations in New York, Milan, and London, Bosideng’s official Paris Fashion Week debut adds another major fashion capital to its global story—and continues its effort to make the down jacket feel less like a winter necessity and more like a statement piece.
