Inspired by one of the House’s most recognizable silhouettes, Christian Dior introduces Cuir Saddle to La Collection Privée—a fragrance conceived as an olfactory echo of the iconic Saddle bag. Crafted by Francis Kurkdjian, Dior’s Perfume Creative Director, the scent reinterprets leather not as raw or smoky, but as supple, intimate, and sensual.
“The Saddle bag is an extension of the body. You slip it under your arm and it becomes one with your body. I took my inspiration from the feeling of leather on skin, fused with the skin, caressing the skin,” says Kurkdjian.
Cuir Saddle unfolds as a woody floral composition infused with a refined leather accord. Luminous white flowers brighten airy woods, creating a soft yet structured trail that clings to the skin with quiet intensity. The result is a leather that feels organic and fluid—more caress than statement—melting seamlessly into the wearer.
Departing from the traditional smoky leather archetype, Cuir Saddle introduces a trompe-l’œil effect: leather imagined as a second skin. Much like the Saddle bag itself—an accessory that rests effortlessly beneath the arm—the fragrance becomes a sensual extension of the body.
In a nod to Dior’s couture heritage, the fragrance and its accompanying travel spray are adorned with limited-edition leather accents inspired by the Saddle bag, reinforcing the dialogue between fashion and fragrance.
