MOD Luxe Hotel Review: Arlo Midtown NYC

This newly opened property is shaking things up on the Manhattan scene! For contemporary comfort with a vibrant atmosphere, look no further than the thoughtfully designed, amenity-packed accommodations of Arlo Midtown!

From the moment guests arrive at Arlo Midtown, it’s like entering an urban oasis in the heart of Manhattan. This trendy new hotspot is the third addition to Arlo’s New York portfolio—joining its snazzy sister hotels, Arlo SoHo and Arlo Nomad. Conveniently located between bustling Times Square and the up-and-coming Hudson Yards, Arlo Midtown is the ultimate destination for travelers seeking a cozy retreat amidst fast-paced New York City life.

The stylish modern decor, which incorporates a chicly harmonious blend of natural elements and contemporary flair, was cleverly designed by Meyer Davis. The warm and welcoming lobby is outfitted with ultra-refined details, like sleek marble surfaces and intricate lighting fixtures—meanwhile, rich wood floors and bold splashes of greenery add an organic touch to the expansive space. Just beyond the check-in desks are massive hanging moss installations, which drape their way down a nearby stairway. The vibe is cool, clean and sophisticated, with a dash of eccentric bohemian—just the type that fashionable city goers will love!

The 26-story property features 489 guest rooms and suites, all accessed by five smart elevators, which can automatically select your destination with a simple tap of a key card. Rooms at Arlo Midtown boast a crisp, minimalist look, featuring padded leather headboards, elegant walnut furnishings and a calming color palette of blue and gray. Large windows rinse each room with sunlight, while revealing gorgeous city views. Some guest room options even come with private, plant-lined terraces overlooking the New York City skyline.

In addition to the plush beds and stunning views, all rooms come equipped with bedside wireless charging stations, free WiFi, Bluetooth radios and 55-inch LED TVs with digital channels and Netflix. Arlo even provides guests with free water bottles, which can also be refilled for free at their on-site refill stations (one of which is located in the gym, the other in the café)—a simple offering, yet one that certainly places this hotel ahead of the rest!

Bathrooms are designed with sleek fixtures, such as glass-enclosed showers and softly backlit mirrors. Also included are luxe bathroom amenities from the Blind Barber.

Dining options at Arlo Midtown further enhance the experience. Nearly Ninth, the hotel’s dynamic on-property restaurant from the hospitality leader, Gerber Group, offers guests five exclusive dining spaces—lobby bar, lounge, café, rooftop, and terrace. This all-day destination serves fresh, Italian-inspired fare and craft cocktails in a stylish, modern setting. The innovative menu, crafted by Executive Chef Corey Becker, consists of classic American comfort foods with Italian influences—like Roman-style pizza and rich, succulent pastas—all elevated with premium, locally sourced ingredients.

In the mornings, guests can visit the Nearly Ninth coffee shop to purchase beverages and snacks to-go. Chill out in the lounge area, while sipping your morning coffee and checking emails (on Arlo’s free WiFi, of course!)

The restaurant’s cozy outdoor terrace is the perfect spot for a luxurious lunch date. The bright, airy space boasts a chic greenhouse vibe, situated beneath a soaring glazed ceiling and decorated with tall palms. If you’re hungry, order the super-juicy Smash Burger with a side of Crispy Potatoes. For a lighter, more delicate meal, opt for the Linguini & Clams dish or the Kale Caesar salad.

Be sure to catch a sunset on the rooftop and watch as the space transforms into a buzzing social scene at night. Hotel guests and locals alike gather here to mingle and sip cocktails, while gazing upon the glamorous city lights.
