Doechii is bringing fans back to the creative process behind Alligator Bites Never Heal with her Swamp Sessions series. Originally created as a creative exercise, the videos challenge the rapper to write and record a song in just one hour, pairing each track with a self-directed visual. The format helped shape fan favorites like “Nissan Altima,” “Bullfrog,” and “Catfish,” eventually contributing to the momentum behind her Grammy-winning mixtape.
Now, as she continues work on her debut studio album, Doechii is revisiting the series while building on the sound that made her one of hip-hop’s most exciting voices. The upcoming project is expected to explore a wider range of influences, from rock and gospel to hip-hop, with an emphasis on live instrumentation and collaborations.
