In the fluid space where heritage liquid meets avant-garde structure, Johnnie Walker Blue Label has found its latest muse. To usher in the Year of the Horse, the historic Scotch brand has partnered with London-based, Hong Kong-born haute couturier Robert Wun. This is a collision of Wun’s surrealist storytelling and the rigorous craftsmanship of Scotch whisky. Inspired by the “auspicious spirit” of the horse and the layered, smoky profile of the Blue Label blend, Wun has crafted a design that feels less like a bottle and more like a piece of structural art.
Wun, a visionary whose sculptural silhouettes have graced everyone from BeyoncĂ© to the Royal Ballet, brings a surrealist lens to the iconic Blue Label bottle. His design serves as a tribute to the Horse’s auspicious energy — an animal defined by its relentless drive and spirit of freedom. For Wun, the synergy between his needlework and the master blender’s craft was immediate. “I think there’s beauty in everything, if you put your heart, your soul and your craftsmanship and commitment into it,” says Wun. This commitment is mirrored in the liquid itself, where only one in every 10,000 casks from Johnnie Walker’s reserves is deemed rare enough to create the Blue Label profile.
The aesthetic reimagining extends beyond the flagship bottle to the John Walker & Sons XR 21 Year Old, offering a contemporary take on Lunar New Year that resonates with both legacy collectors and a younger, culture-driven luxury audience. As Wun aptly puts it, “The horse charges forward, symbolising optimism and a relentless drive to push boundaries.” This release, which launched globally in November 2025, captures that very momentum — celebrating a 200-year-old journey while looking firmly toward the magic of the next chapter. This is the pour of the season.
