TAG Heuer Honors Japanese Motorsport with the Team Ikuzawa Carrera

TAG Heuer reunites with Team Ikuzawa and Bamford Watch Department for a collector’s chronograph inspired by the iconic Heuer Roadmaster stopwatch.

TAG Heuer returns to the track with a new collaboration alongside Team Ikuzawa and Bamford Watch Department, unveiling the limited-edition TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Team Ikuzawa. Following the success of their first partnership in 2023, the trio reunites to create a timepiece that celebrates Japanese motorsport culture while honoring TAG Heuer’s long-standing racing heritage.

Limited to just 150 individually numbered pieces, the chronograph draws inspiration from the historic Heuer Roadmaster stopwatch, one of the brand’s most recognizable motorsport timing instruments. Rather than simply recreating a vintage design, the collaboration reinterprets its bold graphics and highly legible layout through Team Ikuzawa’s modern visual identity.

The project is led by Mai Ikuzawa, Team Principal and Creative Director of Team Ikuzawa, whose work has helped transform the legendary Japanese racing team into a contemporary cultural platform spanning fashion, design, and luxury. Working alongside longtime collaborator George Bamford, founder of Bamford Watch Department, Ikuzawa brings together her deep roots in motorsport with Bamford’s celebrated approach to reimagining iconic watches.

The watch is based on the 39mm TAG Heuer Carrera Glassbox, featuring a brushed and polished stainless steel case with the collection’s signature bezel-free crystal. The white dial is finished with a textured Clou de Paris pattern inspired by Team Ikuzawa’s racing colors, while printed indexes reinforce the clean, stopwatch-inspired aesthetic. Bright red accents appear throughout the design, from the lacquered hands and chronograph seconds hand to the custom date wheel, creating subtle nods to the team’s visual identity.

One of the most distinctive details sits at six o’clock, where the Team Ikuzawa logo replaces the traditional running seconds display thanks to TAG Heuer’s TH20-10 manufacture chronograph movement. The layout pays tribute to vintage racing chronographs from the 1960s and ’70s, when dial space was often reserved for team branding and sponsorships.

Additional touches continue the motorsport inspiration throughout the watch. A polished steel crown features a red lacquered ring, while the signature seven-row steel bracelet is joined by two interchangeable straps: a perforated white leather strap with red stitching inspired by classic racing gloves, and a red-and-white textile strap referencing Team Ikuzawa’s historic racing livery. The caseback is engraved with Team Ikuzawa and Bamford Watch Department branding, along with each watch’s individual production number.

Each timepiece is presented in exclusive packaging inspired by racing toolboxes and pit garages, complete with both additional straps, a travel pouch, and a collection of custom Team Ikuzawa charms.

With the Carrera Chronograph x Team Ikuzawa, TAG Heuer once again demonstrates its deep connection to motorsport while embracing a fresh creative perspective. Blending Swiss watchmaking, Japanese racing culture, and Bamford’s contemporary design language, the limited-edition release offers collectors a thoughtful tribute to the past with an eye firmly on the future.
