Vans and Travis Barker Reunite for a Punk-Inspired Capsule Collection

Inspired by skateboarding, BMX, and punk culture, the latest Vans x Travis Barker collection blends personal history with California style.

For Travis Barker, Vans has never been just another sneaker brand. Long before international tours, sold-out arenas, and his status as one of music’s most recognizable drummers, Vans was already part of his everyday uniform.

Now, Vans and Barker are building on that decades-long relationship with a second collaborative collection that celebrates the skateboarding, BMX, and punk culture that helped shape his identity growing up in Southern California.

Raised in Fontana, California, Barker spent his early years immersed in the communities that would later influence both his personal style and musical career. From local skate parks and BMX culture to punk shows and the Warped Tour scene, Vans became synonymous with the lifestyle that surrounded him.

“My first pair of shoes was a pair of Vans,” Barker shared. “Growing up in Fontana, I always connected the brand to skateboarding, BMX, and punk culture. Once I started seeing my idols wearing them too, it really sealed it for me.”

That history serves as the foundation for the new collection, which feels less like a celebrity collaboration and more like a personal tribute to the influences that came before the spotlight.

Leading the release is a reimagined Vans Old Skool sneaker in a crisp white colorway. The classic silhouette features canvas uppers, cotton laces, and custom details including a “Dues Paid” emblem across the vamp, barbed wire graphics wrapping around the foxing, and Travis Barker branding on the tongue and heel.

The accompanying apparel continues the theme with graphics featuring the phrases “Dues Paid” and “Self Made” across hoodies and tees. Both slogans reflect Barker’s career journey and the work ethic that has defined his path from local punk drummer to global music icon.

The campaign imagery expands on the collection’s message through a cast of musicians, friends, and creatives from the punk community. Barker appears alongside members of The Paradox, N8NOFACE, Tim Armstrong, Missy of Mannequin Pussy, Dani Miller of Surfbort, and others who embody the independent spirit at the heart of the project.

Photographed by longtime Vans collaborator and brand curator Atiba Jefferson, the campaign draws inspiration from underground punk zines, combining raw photography, DIY graphics, and a deliberately unpolished aesthetic. Shot between a legendary Chicago music festival and the streets of Los Angeles, the visuals reinforce the collection’s connection to the communities that inspired it.

Rather than chasing nostalgia, the Vans x Travis Barker capsule feels rooted in authenticity. It’s a reflection of the culture, creativity, and self-made mindset that continue to define both Barker and the brand.

The Vans x Travis Barker collection launches June 18 through Vans, Journeys, and select retail locations, with early access available to Vans Family members beginning June 17.
