Celine Gives Reebok’s ’80s Freestyle Lo a Fashion Makeover

Celine Gives Reebok’s ’80s Freestyle Lo a Fashion Makeover

The ’80s aerobics classic gets a luxe update with lambskin, split branding, and eight new colorways.

Celine and Reebok are giving a little Parisian polish to an ’80s favorite. The two brands have teamed up on a new version of the Freestyle Lo, taking Reebok’s 1982 silhouette and reworking it through Celine’s fashion lens.

The collaboration brings together two very different histories: Celine’s Parisian approach to luxury and Reebok’s roots in American sportswear. And rather than completely reinventing the sneaker, the partnership keeps the recognizable low-profile shape intact while elevating the materials and details.

The Freestyle has plenty of history of its own. Introduced by Reebok in 1982, it was the brand’s first shoe designed specifically for women and was originally created for aerobics. The silhouette quickly became associated with the decade’s fitness culture before the low-cut Freestyle Lo eventually moved beyond the studio and into everyday wardrobes.

For 2026, Celine keeps that familiar profile but gives it a much more luxurious finish. The Celine/Reebok Freestyle Lo features a 100 percent lambskin upper, paired with a polyester lining and insole and a rubber outsole. Perforations across the toe preserve a signature detail of the original design while adding texture to the streamlined silhouette.

The branding gets an equally thoughtful update. The left and right shoes aren’t quite twins, with each carrying its own mix of Celine and Reebok details. A jacquard label features the Celine Paris logo on the left foot and Reebok on the right, while the heels switch things up with an embossed Triomphe on the right and Reebok logo on the left.

Even the soles continue the split identity, combining the two brands with their respective logos. A removable leather label on the left shoe adds another layer of branding, finished with embossed Triomphe and Reebok logos.

The result feels less like a traditional logo-heavy collaboration and more like a conversation between two distinct design languages. Celine brings its refined, fashion-driven sensibility to a sneaker rooted in movement and women’s fitness, while Reebok brings a silhouette that has been part of its history for more than four decades.

The Freestyle Lo arrives in eight colorways, offering plenty of ways to wear the updated classic while keeping the same overall construction and shape.

The Celine/Reebok Freestyle Lo launches September 10, 2026, at select Celine stores and online.
